In its July 5, 2015 article ‘Tech Crunch’ revealed that Voxel8 has raised close to $12 million with the aim to introduce 3D electronic printer. This company is behind the one of its kind multi – material printer and aspires to bring such products to the desk of all designers as well as engineers across the world. Voxel 8’s series A round was guided by ARCH Venture Partners along with Braemar Energy Ventures. In addition, Autodesk, via it In –Q – Tel as well as Spark Investment Fund too joined the funding round. The company is the result of years of patented study by Jennifer Lewis. Besides, being a co –founder of the startup Jennifer Lewis works as a professor at the Harvard.
The 3D electronic printer invented by Voxel8 are completely functional and the makers have incorporated materials including robust epoxies, conductive inks and more while manufacturing it. Commenting on the product features Clint Bybee, MD at ARCH said: “Instead of printing a plastic part that’s useful as a prototype, or useful as jewelry or art, Voxel8 really enables the printing of functional parts that have electronics embedded in them,” says ARCH managing director Clint Bybee. “This is really the first time that this capability has been brought to market.”
